The making...

Dear viewers, this is my first attempt doing this stuff. I have never done this before in my entire life!

Our assignment:

1. To shoot 2 bottles of mineral water which are intended for a poster / streamer prints.

2. The phrase "Fresh & Natural" or anything suitable must be included in the poster.

Project Strategy:

Location : waterfall, stream
Subject : 2 bottles of mineral water ( 1 liter and 500 ml)
Supporting elements : green leaves, mist (if possible),

1) Waterfall must be blurred - slow shutter speed
2) The bottles must be placed just a fraction above the water surface
3) Both bottle must be clearly focused, sharp having droplets of water visible.

This outing starts on an early morning trip to a small stream somewhere in Teluk Bahang.(don't really know the exact name of the place). Had breakfast at a mammak shop, hoping that our team mates from Perlis arrived just in time to join us. 10 of just set off for this assignment :me, cgmulia, syednasir , ayarxoren, rauna_78, sham, nash, mozakim, macro_lens and azizan. Having packed ourselves with fish and chicken (prepared by rauna_78) for our lunch, so there's no need to worry of going home early.

#1 - Immeadiately after reaching at the proposed site for the 'shoot-out' we had a short breifing by our project leader (Mr Syed Nasir)

#2 - Preparing available materials that could be used to set up our props. A small rapid which simulate a waterfall at a far distance.

#3 - Having difficulties to make the platform stable to withhold the strong flow of water downstream.

#4 - As the sun greeted us ..... we started to adjust the relector to suite.

#5 - After several attempts, we decided to forget about using the rocks for the base platform...instead a tripod and a piece of flat rock is used. The object : Two bottles of mineral water are placed on the platform ..but then again problems, the bottle seem to shake vigorously against the flow of water. Adjustment had to be made again. Rocks are piled up downstream to hold the water in a so called 'pool'.

#6 - We have to adjust the tripod to the level whereby only a fraction of the bottles are submerged. Shooting is done at water level. Then again the fear of having to get our cameras wet is always in our mind. Small plants, frens are 'planted' using other tripods to simulate the density of flora around the area which never existed.

#7 - We had lunch with these cuisines ...yummmm yummmm

#8 - The end product....whatever it is lah (newbie stuff meh!). No post editing ie: enhancement and touch-up done cause I don't know how to do it in pshop ( I need classes for this, anybody willing to teach me?) only cropped and resized. Text is added which I feel lah sengget a bit ..hehehe....

Indeed salon photography is challenging. One need to create conditions for a perfect picture. My finished photo might be not be pleasing for you but as far I am concerned, it was quite an experience and something to look forward in other sessions.
..... thank you .... FMNorthernRegion Team & Mr Syed Nasir .... bon voyage bro!
